Both amateur and pro windsurfers congregate here to test their skills.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The seriousness of this sport on the island is stressed by the presence of the Rene Egli Windsurf Center at this beach (a short distance from the Meli\u00e1 Fuerteventura resort). Egli is a longtime organizer of windsurfing events and runs a windsurfing school at his Center. Playas Solavento and Barca are chosen for such enthusiasts not only because of the ideal wind conditions present here, but because they have these beaches to themselves.
